Chantix
Chantix is a prescription smoking cessation drug manufactured by Pfizer.
It was first approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) in May 2006.
Chantix acts at sites in the brain affected by nicotine and may help ease
withdrawal symptoms. The drug apparently also promotes suicidal tendencies in people who otherwise did not have them.
On November 20, 2007, the FDA issued an Early Communication to the public
and health care providers that the agency was evaluating this and other possible side effects. On February 1, 2008, the FDA issued a Public Health Advisory to alert health care providers, patients and care givers of new safety warnings regarding Chantix.
If you have been seriously injured or a loved one has been seriously injured or killed as a result of taking Chantix, you may be entitled to substantial compensation. Please contact us today for a free evaluation of your case.
